Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Overview
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed for those who need structured, part-time treatment while maintaining their daily responsibilities. The program typically meets for 10 to 15 hours per week, focusing on developing skills for lasting recovery, addressing feelings of shame and guilt, and building confidence for a healthy, sober life.
Benefits of the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
During treatment, something magical happens... Motivation turns from external to internal. This internal motivation has been described in many ways... Some talk about hitting a bottom. What is a bottom? It's when I begin to fear this disease more than I fear change.
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is tailored for adults struggling with drug or alcohol abuse and co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
IOP allows individuals to receive a high level of support from our team of physicians, therapists, licensed counselors and psychologists, who are focused on helping patients heal the mind, body and spirit. Because overnight stays are not required, individuals in recovery may continue to work, go to school and participate in family life. The IOP program includes:
- Comprehensive Evaluation: Thorough assessment of physical, mental health, and addictive disorders.
- Medical Management: Oversight by a board-certified addiction medicine physician.
- Diverse Therapies: Various therapeutic and counseling options to manage frustration, anger, cravings, and develop essential coping skills.
- Holistic Approaches: Mindfulness, meditation, biofeedback, and nutrition programs to reduce stress, restore balance, and replace harmful behaviors.
- Spiritual Exploration: Opportunities to find purpose and meaning in life to enhance recovery.
- Individual Counseling: Private sessions to address personal issues and substance abuse concerns
- Dual Disorder Treatment: Support for managing co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
- Chronic Disease Management: Care for chronic conditions like pain through medical treatment.
- Peer Support: Building relationships with sober peers and participating in communal activities.
- Physical Vitality: Support in improving physical health through tailored nutrition and exercise programs.
Transitioning from Day Treatment/Partial Hospitalization
After initial treatment, the Intensive Outpatient Program may be recommended as a step-down option. This allows patients to gradually reduce the intensity of their treatment while gaining skills for independent management of their health and recovery.
As patients progress, the intensity of the program may diminish as patients gain the skills needed to continue their recovery outside of treatment and feel ready to manage their health and wellbeing independently.
Recovery Keys accepts most private insurance plans and offers financing options for qualifying individuals. To learn more about the Intensive Outpatient Program call Recovery Keys at (904) 551-1394 today or schedule an evaluation now.
