Erica Barrett is a therapist at the St. Augustine, Florida location of Recovery Keys.
Erica received her Bachelor degree in Psychology at Pennsylvania State University, followed by her Master in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wake Forest University. She has completed her practicum and internship experiences within the field of substance use treatment and has remained in the field as a result of her training.
Erica has focused on the outpatient treatment of substance use disorders throughout her career. She is trained in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. These modalities allow the patient to take an active role in recognizing patterns of thought, emotion and behavior. Erica also places an emphasis on the ability to set realistic and achievable goals to encourage motivation for change. She incorporates these skills into the group and individual settings in order to guide patients in the direction of change.
Erica is a military veteran and a Pennsylvania native. She states, “During my years working in the field of substance use and recovery, I have seen the struggles people face. My hope is to encourage change in the lives of my patients by assisting them in taking an active role in their recovery journey.
